  1. Reminder users why your product is the best to meet their specific needs.
  2. Explain to users why your asking them questions about their personal preferences and how it will enhance either experience.
  3. Make is quick and painless. Your onboarding process should take long longer than 60 seconds.
  4. Use insights from current users to find the exact point in which users see the value from your product.
  5. Allow users to skip or delay onboarding.
  6. Frequently test, measure and optimise the overall flow to improve your onboarding experience.

Common mistakes you should avoid

  • Rely on walkthroughts or tooltips to cover for bad product UX.
  • Include anything not critical to users core experience. These features can be introduced at a later time.
  • Force users to sit through long product tours that are boring and tedious.
According to research by William C. Bradford, approximately 65% of the population needs to see what they’re learning about to comprehend it. Another 5% needs to actually experience it.
